Coniston Power Boats Records Week: Oct 31 – Nov 4th.
Coniston Power Boat Records Week is the only event in the Powerboat Racing Calendar to bring together all classes of boat from around the world.
There’s tiny hydroplanes to inshore circuit racers and large offshore boats.

Holker Winter Market: Nov 5 & 6
The annual Holker Winter Market will see more than 50 stalls selling everything from craft to food. Plus, there will be live music, street entertainment, BBQ and mulled wine at Holker Hall & Gardens in Cark-in-Cartmel. More information is from www.holker.co.uk
Moongazing in Grizedale: Nov 11
Get out and get looking up at Cumbria’s dark skies from 7.30pm – 10.30pm with professional astronomers, who will guide you through the dark sky at Grizedale.
Craft fair at Brantwood: Nov 12-13
If you want to get your hands on some great Cumbrian crafts, then you’ll want to head to Brantwood. There will be lots of crafts on display, from glassware, photographs, ceramics and much more.
And, if you want to learn a traditional craft, there will be demonstrations in basket-making, spinning and rag rug making to name a few.

Keswick Light Switch On: Nov 18
With jazz bands, choirs, stalls and santa’s workshop, the whole family will enjoy the atmosphere at the annual switch on. A nice family day out in this pretty northern Lake District town.
Ambleside Lantern Procession and Christmas Lights Switch on: Nov 19
This annual event always draws the crowds in for the colourful procession of lanterns through the town with Father Christmas in his sleigh.
A good atmosphere is promised with street entertainment and stalls.
Kendal Mountain Festival: Nov 17-20
This award-winning event is a highlight in the calendar for outdoor enthusiasts.
The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal hosts inspiring films and lectures from guest speakers and film makers with the aim to inspire more people to explore.
Curator’s tour at Beatrix Potter Gallery: Nov 22
As part of the 150th anniversary celebrations this year, this special after-hours tour will give you access to original Beatrix Potter artwork. It takes place from 4.30-6pm.
Planets and Winter Stars: Nov 25
Amateur astronomer and author Stuart Atkinson returns to the Heron Corn Mill for another evening of stargazing from 4.30pm-6.30pm.

A firm fixture in the annual Lakes diary, this car rally through Grizedale Forest is an exciting day out.

Kendal Mountain Family Adventure Festival: Nov 26

Kendal Christmas Lights Switch On: Nov 27
The Kendal Christmas Lights Switch is scheduled for 4.45pm, although the town will be alive with events from 2pm. A great family event, which takes place in the town centre.
Santa Express: Nov 26-27
Get onboard the Santa Express and meet Father Christmas at the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.
