A short pathway incline leads to this small terrace of attractive cottages and your first glimpse of the superb views. An entrance hall leads to the open plan living area, with large bay window, multi-fuel stove set in a traditional Lakeland slate fireplace, window seats and sumptuous relaxing furnishings complemented by state of the art facilities including Wi-Fi. An opening leads into the very well equipped kitchen with all manner of extra gadgets for foodies to experiment with - make your own ice cream, smoothies, juices and more. If you're a Bakeoff fan or if afternoon tea is your thing, Brantside's iconic food mixer will help you whip up cakes, puddings and biscuits like a true professional. Upstairs to the first floor where the views get even better, if that was at all possible!
The beautiful double bedroom admires the views with a dual aspect and even has another window seat. The twin bedroom also gazes at that view and the high quality modern bathroom has a relaxing deep bath with power shower facility - bliss. Outside is a landscaped terraced patio area, a place to enjoy al-fresco living, and yes this is another place to admire that view. A parking permit provides parking only a few 100 yards from the cottage or there is nearby on street parking. Walks in abundance start right from your door including the spectacular Stock Ghyll Force waterfall walk, Wansfell Pike and Loughrigg.

Ambleside is a historic village, well-served with contemporary shops and sophisticated evening entertainments. It nestles off the northern shores of Lake Windermere, against a superb backdrop of Lake District fells - it's no wonder that Ambleside is a popular base for walking in the Lake District. Ambleside's shopping streets are full of character, scattered with traditional Lakeland cottages and attractive historic buildings. But you'll find everything you could need during a self-catering holiday; from tempting delicatessens and handy supermarkets for stocking up the kitchen, to outdoor clothing stores and fashionable boutiques.
By night, why not sample some Lakeland ale in one of the many cosy pubs in Ambleside. Or, treat yourselves to a special meal at The Fulling Mill - just one of several excellent restaurants in Ambleside's village centre. Ambleside's location on the A591 makes it a great base for touring the wider Lake District.
