Croftside is located at Applethwaite – just 1 mile from Keswick. In the gallery photos it is on the right hand side of Croft House – a Victorian country house on the edge of the village. It has a peaceful location with magnificent views – described by guests as “views to die for”. It is a Visit England 4 star property with a Gold Award. Croftside has a kitchen/dining room, lounge, double bedroom, twin bedroom, shower room and bathroom with a garden, on-site parking and wifi.
There are walks from the door and a choice of a pub/three restaurants and health spa facilities within walking distance. The facilities of Keswick are nearby.
The ground floor of Croftside consists of the entrance hall, shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC and a spacious, south-facing double bedroom.
The lounge and kitchen/dining room are on the first floor. The lounge has outstanding,panoramic views and has a TV, DVD player and music system. There is wifi. The kitchen/dining room has beautiful views up to Skiddaw and Applethwaite. The kitchen area includes an electric hob and double oven cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. A freezer is provided.
The second floor consists of the twin bedroom - again with panoramic views – and a bathroom. The latter has a shower over the bath, basin and WC – and a spectacular view to Applethwaite and Skiddaw.
The accommodation is completed with an adjacent boiler/boot room, with space to store and dry walking gear. There is a shared laundry room (with washing machine, tumble dryer and additional drying facilities). The garden has a patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ – and views down to the Borrowdale fells. There is on-site parking for 2 cars.
The friendly town of Keswick hosts the very popular twice weekly market that has recently won the coveted “Best Outdoor Market” in the Great British Market Awards. The town offers a fantastic array of shops offering everything from specialist bakeries and local produce to antiques and crafts.
There are three pub/restaurants that you can walk to from Croftside but in addition there is a great range of pubs, restaurants, bistros, cafes and wine bars in Keswick. For evening entertainment there is the 100 year old Alhambra Cinema or the “most beautiful and friendly theatre in Britain”, the 400 seat Theatre by the Lake on the shores of Derwentwater.
From Croftside it is just a few minutes drive to the shores of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite with 7 other lakes within 30 minutes. You can enjoy a cruise on Derwentwater or perhaps the mountain biking at Whinlatter. There are walks from the door of Croftside and a multitude of walks to choose from in the area
