A flight of stone steps lead to the first floor and the front door of the apartment, which opens to a inner hallway. In turn this opens to the open plan lounge and kitchen.
The triple aspect lounge is bright and airy and is well furnished with comfortable sofas around the coffee table in front of the fireplace with a wood burner effect electric fire and large screen smart TV. A large bay window, which is cantilevered over the river is a great place to sit and read, to watch the wildlife and to enjoy the ever changing views to Heron Pike, Stone Arthur and Fairfield. Maps and walking suggestions are available to use during your stay.
Recently updated the contemporary kitchen is well appointed and offers everything you could need during your stay is a great place to cook up a tasty Lakeland breakfast before a day on the hills. The large breakfast bar gives the whole room a very social feel however you may choose to dine at the dining table that is available in the hallway overlooking the river if you prefer.
Returning to the hallway there is a south facing twin bedroom complemented by a family shower room with shower, basin and WC.
A pine staircase leads to the top floor master bedroom suite with beautiful views across the river to the fields and hills beyond. This bedroom offers a TV and a great ensuite bathroom with bath, separate shower, basin and WC.
Returning outside there is a bench overlooking the river and private parking space for one car
Due to the proximity to the river the owners do believe the property is only suitable for children over five years old.
Nestled in the very heart of the Lakes, Grasmere is a lovely place for a romantic break in peaceful surroundings. With the views beginning at home, you'll be tempted to take on such famous Lake District walks as Silver How, Lang How and Helm Crag. Rising very close to the property is the impressive 'Fairfield Horseshoe' - keen walkers will be spoilt for choice.
But a holiday property in Grasmere isn't just a dream for walkers. This historic Lake District village is famed for its connections with the poet William Wordsworth, who lived in the village at Dove Cottage is open to the public as part of the Wordsworth Museum. Artists will enjoy browsing several watercolour galleries in Grasmere, particularly the Heaton Cooper Studio which displays the Cooper family's famous work as well as that of inspired local artists.
The village centre has all the facilities you'll need during your self-catering holiday in the heart of the Lakes. For touring by car or exploring the Lakes, the A591 leads you effortlessly south past Rydal Water to Ambleside on the northern shore of Lake Windermere, or north to Keswick and Derwent Water. Also easily found to your south are the breathtaking Langdale Valley and the Lake District's third largest lake, Coniston.
