Charming and characterful rural retreat in the back-country of Bowness! A pretty, spacious and recently renovated end-terrace property set along a lovely little lane in the hamlet of Underbarrow, Ellerbeck Bridge is idyllically appointed and perfectly equipped to provide a fully rejuvenating holiday experience. A party of 6 will be all set for a serenely satisfying stay in this picture perfect part of our stunning region!
Luxurious touches throughout, such as the high-end furnishings and the Greco-Romanesque friezes in the bathroom, are fully matched by the exceptional countryside views at Ellerbeck. The living-area is decorated tastefully with warm wine accents, and a still warmer wood-burner, and provides a wonderful space in which to fully relax. A large corner sofa in supple leather lets you sink in beneath the aged wooden beams and lounge in the heat of the companionable cast-iron stove while you watch a movie together on the superb large screen Smart TV.
A welcome 'snug' provides the chance to sit and read a book or just take some moments for yourself, while the excellent conservatory with patio doors to the garden beyond is a fantastic place to unwind and gaze out into the garden. With two spacious patios to enjoy, bedecked with high-quality rattan furniture, an attractive alpine rockery, and a wilderness woodland beyond the landscaped areas, this a fabulous space for al-fresco living, and you may well spot deer and badger here, and even the occasional red squirrel!
The Black Labrador Inn is just a pleasant five minute wander away, the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the Lake District countryside. And what countryside it is! The Lyth Valley, recently included in Lonely Planets list of the most beautiful places on earth, is a serenely beautiful network of pastures and wooded hills, lined with bramble hedges and populated with damson trees. Low level meandering footpaths are to be discovered everywhere, and hills like Orrest Head, Brant Fell and Gummer's How are in easy reach, while the central Lakeland fells are a short run to the north towards Ambleside. You can even take the one of the celebrated steamers there from Bowness Bay!
Ellerbeck Bridge is a rare country gem, fitted to the highest standards, just awaiting our Lakelovers to enjoy!
