A high-end honeypot for discerning Lakelovers! The epitome of Lakeland luxury with all the character and cosiness of a traditional rural home, Honeywood House offers a tasteful and tranquil escape for six in sensational surroundings. Just a scenic stroll from the centre of gorgeous Grasmere village, yet pleasantly tucked away to provide that ever so sought-after seclusion, you’ll be fully relaxed here, and ready to explore the best the Lakes has to offer.
Arriving at this striking slate-built and substantial property, circumscribed by fine hill scenery, you know you're in for a holiday to remember straight away. A charming building to match the picturesque character of pretty Grasmere, Honeywood House sits on the fringe of this beloved village, perfectly balanced between centrality and peace. Inside, the fine Farrow & Ball décor and elegant furnishings are complemented by excellent facilities, including a high quality contemporary kitchen, where you can rustle up sustaining meals for your party's adventures, and three sumptuous en-suites with monsoon showers. One comes with a free-standing bath tub, too, for some serious unwinding!
A wood-burning stove can be the heart of a true Lake District home, and you may find the one at Honeywood House becomes a firm friend during your stay. There's little better than curling up on the luxurious leather corner sofa and basking in the toasty heat when the night is drawing in! And when the sun shines, patio doors lead from your kitchen to the garden, supplied with furniture to let you eat outside or just bask in the quietude and beauty of it all!
The views here are superb and get better the higher in the house you go! With some of the favourite Lake District fells all about you, it's no wonder the outlook is so good. Helm Crag, known as The Lion and The Lamb due to its characterful top-knot, stands sentinel over Grasmere village, while Silver How is among the other peaks offering first-class walking options. To the south of the village lies the beautiful namesake water, and you can sit by Grasmere lake at the wonderfully named Faeryland, with it rather magical selection of intriguing teas, its ice-creams, and its rowboats for hire.
A picturesque wander into Grasmere lets you browse the little shops and art galleries, hop from tearoom to tearoom or take in the bountiful culture; this is, after all, Wordsworth country, and the great poets grave is to be found at rustic St. Oswald's church, with the Wordsworth Museum nearby at Dove Cottage, his principle residence, and further treasures in his other houses at Allen Bank and Rydal Mount.
So much to do and so much to see, and a wonderful home-from-home to come back to at the end of it all – No wonder Honeywood House is a Lakelovers favourite!
