A enjoy a perfect July, at any time of year! One for the connoisseur of fine Lakeland barns, this wonderful old stone-built holiday home is packed full of contemporary luxury. Wall-of-glass windows complement the extraordinary views, while gorgeous gardens and refreshing rural seclusion complete the ingredients for an idyllic Lake District escape.
Named after a lovely old sycamore tree that thrives near the barn and reaches its peak in the month of July, your 17th Century holiday home is an indulgent space for a party of eight. Authentic features abound, tempered by tasteful modernisation that ensure your stay is spent in the lap of luxury. Pleasantly light and airy, with cleverly designed walls of glass making the most of those superb panoramic views, July Flowertree Barn enjoys a blessed position close to the southern tip of Lake Windermere.
This is the kind of place you could happily come to and move around for essentials only all week. Ensconcing yourselves in the peace and quiet of the beautiful deep South Lakeland countryside, and just enjoying this gorgeous rustic barn and the soul food the scenery provides will make for a thoroughly refreshing and satisfying week. That said, there is so much to explore in this part of the world that you will doubtless heed the call of adventure heartily and often!
Wandering the country lanes and winding footpaths all about you is a good start, and the lovely walk to the raised waters of High Dam provides the most magnificent picnicking and wild-swimming opportunity. Nearby Finisthwaite is a real old world country hamlet, and you'll find Stott Park Bobbin Mill just a stroll away, a fascinating relic of Old Lakeland's industry.
Close by, too, is Lakeside, where the steamers dock on their cruising of Lake Windermere, and, of course, you will certainly want to take a trip northwards in this most elegant of fashions. South is no less appealing when journeyed via the charming Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, and we recommend a visit to the pretty village of Cartmel, too.
At Newby Bridge a superb country inn, the Swan Hotel, offers excellent food, chilled beers by the river, and even a spa facility for cooler days or just unwinding after your adventures. And back home, just throw open the French doors and kick back on the patio in blissful serenity with a glass of your favourite!
July Flowertree Barn has everything you could want for a special Lakeland getaway- not every property has dedicated Media Room, after all- and we're confident you'll want to return here, time and again!
