Accommodation in detail
Enter through the electric gates and follow the drive down towards the lake and you will struck by the location of this imposing property. Pull up right outside the front door and step into a double height, south facing hallway. Glazed from floor to ceiling and allowing the light to flood in. Finished to the highest standard throughout the whole house has been furnished to the highest standards and include items specially sourced by the owner to create a unique property. The decoration is smart and contemporary and the eye catching Italian plasterwork evident throughout.
Turn left and you will stop and stare as you step into the large dining kitchen with magnificent views across Lake Windermere. A large family dining table sits in front of the floor to ceiling bifold doors that open to the patio and enjoys the vista across Lake Windermere. The bespoke handmade kitchen is spectacular with stunning quartz and granite worktops and equipped to the very highest standard with halogen hob, spacious undercounter fridge and freezer drawers. To the side the door leads to the covered hot tub that bubbles and sparkles and though discreetly hidden still enjoys views across the lake. A utility room is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier.
A large lounge is beautifully furnished with superb brand leading, Norwegian, stress-less sky blue sofas and armchairs and a sculptural chaise lounge. A super large screen TV and surround sound system provide a state of the art entertainment system. For those looking for somewhere quite to relax with the papers, a good book or to simply catch up on their favorite TV programme a lovely snug, with sumptuous leather sofa, is equipped with a second Smart TV.
Heading upstairs choose from one of four stunning bedrooms, The master, on the south west corner of the property, offers beautiful views across the lake and the large bi-fold doors open directly onto a private balcony that wraps around the corner of the property and is complemented by a luxurious ensuite bathroom with feature bath, double shower, basin and WC.
Three further bedroom complete the collection, all with double beds; two with views of the lake and one with views of the garden. Two of the rooms offer luxurious ensuite shower rooms and an ensuite bathroom in the final room.
Outside there is plenty of space to enjoy the unique setting, in addition to the large patio and covered hot tub, the garden sweeps down the hillside to the lakeshore offering access for boats and canoes and include a jetty and a small beach and overlooked by a large covered outdoor dining area, complemented with an outdoor Webber cooker, that is the perfect place to end the day as the sun sets over the lake.
The garden is flanked by ancient woodland where the owners have created a haven for wildlife and here the landscaping and gardening is kept to a minimum to encourage the local flora and fauna and is a real delight for lovers of nature..
Louper Weir is set on Lake Windermere in a sublime setting known locally as 'millionaires' mile'! 2 minutes' drive south of the car ferry, 3 miles south of the main lakeside town of Bowness on Windermere. Convenient for local amenities and access to the fantastic cruising grounds of Lake Windermere as well as the surrounding National Park by foot or car. On the eastern shores of Lake Windermere, Bowness is a sophisticated Lakeland village with a wealth to explore and enjoy. Stroll to the lake shore in Bowness to hire a row boat or power boat, or take an elegant cruise on one of the Lake Windermere steamers. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside; a wonderful way to explore without even using your car.
There are several excellent restaurants in Bowness village, also close by are many Michelin star for stylish dining, while the Porthole and Bodegas & Sol puts a contemporary twist on the tapas style. There are also plenty of traditional Lakeland pubs, both in the village centre and the surrounding countryside. Or better still within the Windermere Marina, less than a mile away, is The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant. Eating out in Cumbria has never been better, and now there is a gem on our door step! Enjoy one of the two fantastic south facing terraces on those lazy summer days, spend a few hours in the bar or book a table in the first floor restaurant for something a little more special or of course enjoy the comfort of your own accommodation back at your very own lakeside boathouse.
Windermere Golf Club is just outside Bowness village, on the way to the Lyth Valley. This area is also renowned for gentle but very scenic walking, with a wealth of acclaimed Lake District country pubs to choose from at the end of the day.
Close to the village, you'll find Blackwell, The Arts and Crafts House. This impressive property takes a stunning position overlooking Lake Windermere, and has a range of interesting exhibitions.
Join the A591 to Ambleside and Grasmere, and you can explore the homes of famous Lake District poet, William Wordsworth.
Another great idea is to take the car-ferry crossing, just a couple of hundred yards from your doorstep, over Lake Windermere from Bowness, to visit the former home of Beatrix Potter in Near Sawrey, and the picturesque village of Hawkshead.
