Built within the grounds of the Old Rectory, The Grooms Cottage, is approached through the gateway and down the drive.
The front door opens to the well planned, bespoke, oak, kitchen, created by a local craftsman. With everything you could need during your stay, this well equipped kitchen includes an electric hob and cooker, dishwasher, Dolce Gusto Coffee maker and fridge with freezer compartment and complemented with a washer/dryer. A popular and unique feature of this cottages is the honesty larder stacked with local produce and of course there are always homemade goodies on arrival.
The dual aspect lounge include a cosy log fire making it the ideal place to relax in an evening after a day on the fells. Entertainment is taken care of with a Smart TV with DVD player and Bose Bluetooth sound system.
A star feature of this cottage is the romantic bedroom with its beautiful oak four poster bed and locally hand crafted bedroom furniture. Finally the luxurious wet room, with stunning slate tiles and underfloor heating, offers a walk in monsoon shower, basin and WC.
Stepping outside the beautiful walled garden is a real treat with large lawn, well planted borders and a patio with bistro garden furniture, all overlooking the meadows and the lane to the farm that is used by the local farmer to take the cows, twice a day, to be milked at the neighbouring farm. Also in the Garden there is secure bike storage which is great for keen bikers wanting to ensure after biking around Whinlatter their bike is in a safe place.
Uldale overlooks the Ellen Valley and is in the vicinity of the Uldale fells. It has a traditional feel with miles of drystone walls and farmland. Nearby you will find Lakes such as Bassenthwaite and Overwater and the striking Northern Fells of Skiddaw and Blencathra.
The area benefits from being quieter and less commercialised than some of the other Lakeland towns and villages yet is only a short drive to the popular market town of Keswick.
